What piece of art, by a Black artist, inspires you?

Black Cop by Cory Bowles! Cory is a multidisciplinary artist who also wears many hats and I think that really shines through in the film and his whole body of work, as does his energy and honesty which also always inspires me.

What does it mean for you to receive this award?

In person training for IC work is absolutely integral to the development of my craft and career but there are currently no opportunities for in person IC training in my home province Nova Scotia. This award gives me the opportunity to travel and train with some of the leading professionals in the industry. It also gives me the chance to grow my community outside of NS and hopefully expand my network for future work.
